Inconsistent sunflower Seeds
Every microgreens farmer who grows sunflower shoots for their customers knows that the seeds on the market are inconsistent.

Even from the same supplier, each seed lot performs differently so you never really know if you're going to get a good batch that actually germinates and gives a decent yield.

The seeds are hit-or-miss, even from your favorite seed suppliers, and sometimes they are even out of stock. Why even bother growing sunflowers in the first place if they are going to be so much trouble!

⏳When will my seeds ship?

Seeds typically ship out between 1-3 days after purchase.

📆 When will my seeds arrive, how long does it take to ship?

Shipping typically takes 3-7 days via UPS or USPS.

💧Should I soak my seeds? For how long?

Yes, I recommend soaking your seeds for ONLY FOUR hours prior to planting.

💯How many seeds should I use per tray?

I use a seed density of 4.5 oz seed (dry weight) per 10" x 20" tray, but experiment from there to dial in a seed rate that's perfect for your farm.

🌧 Should I use a humidity dome during germination?

I don't recommend using a humidity dome. Instead, I would stack your trays and add weight. You can learn my growing process here.

🌱How long will it take for my sunflower microgreens to grow?

Everyone's crop cycle will be slightly different due to differing environmental factors and growing techniques. This being said, I typically keep my trays in germination for four days before moving under lights for 6 days, for a total of a 10-day crop cycle.

Yes! I only sell ORGANIC seed varieties. The seeds are certified organic by Oregon Tilth prior to arriving at my farm.
